I was introduced to this piece by Roberta Voss, whose lovely playing of it--and its similarity to the music of Ludovico Einaudi--captivated my interest. In some respects it is an extremely easy piece to play (ridiculously simple left hand, lots of repetition, easy rhythms). But as with many examples of minimalist music, capturing the emotion and artistry of the piece is much more difficult. Sheet music available from https://dirkmaassen.com/sheets I should note that I performed the piece as written, except for a couple of measures that--to my ear--did not duplicate Maassen's recording.
