Pheasant Hunting - A late winter upland bird hunt – Part 2 – Running the Brittanys

February brings the outdoorsman to a time of year that is a bit slower with the closing of the season for Deer, waterfowl and other small game. However, I find it to be a great time to get the dogs out and hunt on a local gamebird farm. I love getting out and working the dogs on birds. With our location being in an area of the country that has limited wild bird hunting opportunities, hunting the gamebird farm allows hunters the opportunity to have a great hunting experience without the cost and time it takes to travel to areas where wild pheasant populations are at huntable levels. Gamebird hunting is a great time to socialize and spend time with good friends in a relaxed hunting environment. We have a good time talking and catching up on recent events and discussing other hunting experiences. The dogs do the work finding the birds, while the hunters just have to do our part and make the shot count.
