In this webinar, Dr. Delaram Safarpour explains how deep brain stimulation (DBS) programming works after surgery. Listen in as Dr. Safarpour describes how a multidisciplinary team evaluates symptom profiles to choose which part of the brain to target for stimulation, how modern DBS systems steer electrical fields to manage and decrease side effects, why your programmer's role extends being simply turning the device on, and when you should follow-up for additional programming support. Speaker Bio: Dr. Safarpour is the medical director of the Deep Brain Stimulation Program at Oregon Health and Sciences University.
