Time Lapse: Metro Vancouver to Nelson, British Columbia via the Crowsnest Highway

July 27, 2020 - I'm spending the summer of Covid in the beautiful backyard of British Columbia. Today I'm going somewhere I've never been - Nelson and the Kootenays! I've never travelled on the Crowsnest Highway (Highway 3) east of Osoyoos before, so there's a lot of new road to put behind me and sights to see along the way! Hooking up with the Trans-Canada Highway in Hope, BC, the Crowsnest Highway offers a windy, southern trans-provinicial alternative. Much of the highway hugs the Canada/United States border, coming within one kilometre of the boundary a number of times. After leaving Metro Vancouver, we visit the Hope Slide, zip through E.C. Manning Provincial Park, Osoyoos and the beautiful Okanagan Valley, take in the view at Anarchist Mountain, and then head through Boundary Country all the way to the Kootenays, including the largest cities of Castlegar and Nelson.
