Some very common questions about this topic are about the difference between past perfect and simple past tense together, how to use future perfect, and when to change verbs. Remember: just because you start a sentence with one verb tense doesn't mean you have to use ONLY that tense through the rest of the sentence. Be sure to look at each clause and consider the function of the information there.
