The Annual Day Celebration has been jointly organised by Saptadhara Committee & SRC Committee of Government Science College Gandhinagar on 18th March 2026 at Townhall Gandhinagar. The program is chiefly designed to felicitate the meritorious students in academic, extracurricular, sports, NSS, NCC & various types competitions at university, state or national levels. It has also provided the platform to showcase the cultural talent of the students revolving around the theme of Vande Mataram. In his inaugural speech Dr. D. P. Patel, the Principal, has motivated the students to invoke the patriotic spirit in all of them and serve the nation for its better development. He has also congratulated the meritorious students who are receiving trophies, medals and certificates for securing excellent grades in various events & competitions. Captain Sonu John, Combat Arms & Maratha Regiment, BSF has remained present as a chief guest of the function. In his address he has guided the students about the process of securing Officers’ cadres in the Indian Army. Furthermore, he also motivated the students about how working in army can change their perspective of life. Dr. Sameer Pandya, the Coordinator of Saptadhara committee, has expressed his vote of thanks to the chief guest Captain Sonu John for sparing his valuable time for the event. He has also expressed his gratitude to Dr. Y.M. Patel, the IQAC Coordinator, Prof. Khachar, the SRC Coordinator, the entire members of Saptadhara committee & SRC committee for their tireless efforts in organising today event. Around 120 trophies, mementos, medals & certificates have been awarded to the meritorious students by the chief guest, the principal, the HoDs & various faculty members of the college. After prize distribution ceremony, the students have performed various patriotic & cultural dances as well as numerous performances. At the end, female faculty members have also performed garaba dance, an alumnus student has performed a song & SRC coordinator has presented duha chhand chopai extemporary. The students, the parents and all invited guests applauded and enjoyed the entire event. Dr. D. P. Patel, as a part of tradition, has announced 20th March 2026 as holiday for teaching work in the college. The program is concluded with the singing of national song Vande Mataram. Weapons exhibition is also arranged by the army unit for the awareness & information of the students at the corridor of the townhall. All the guests, faculty members & students have taken tea, coffee & snacks at last & have parted away with the sweet memories of the event.
