The Franklin County Office on Aging hosted the 2026 State of Our Seniors at the Fran Ryan Center, bringing together over 170 seniors, residents, community partners, and local leaders for an important conversation about the future of aging in Franklin County. During this year’s program, Director Chanda Wingo shared key priorities for 2026 and introduced the Aging Forward Agenda, a forward-looking commitment to strengthen services, advance equity, and ensure older adults can age with dignity, independence, and connection. Attendees also heard remarks from Columbus Mayor Andrew Ginther, Whitehall Mayor Michael Bivens, Franklin County Commissioner Kevin Boyce, County Administrator Ken Wilson, and Deputy County Administrator Joy Bivens, along with agency updates and data highlighting the rapid growth of the 60+ population in our community. The Aging Forward Agenda is a coordinated effort to plan intentionally for the future and ensure seniors’ voices help shape the policies and programs designed to support them.
