So as mentioned in the video we bought a 2012 Ford PX Ranger with engine problems. We tried to turn the engine over but couldn't as the engine was seized so we started looking for the cause of the seized engine. The first thing we pulled off was the oil filter lid which is when we noticed that the oil filter inside was still dry. After that we knew that the last person to touch the car had done an extended oil drain on the car which had caused the engine to run dry. After figuring out what had caused the engine to seize it was time to remove the engine and strip it down. Once the engine was removed and stripped down we found that the big end bearing on cylinder 3 had spun around the crankshaft which is what was seizing the engine. so we sent the block off to see if it could be saved which it couldn't as the tunnel had been damaged beyond repair so we got a brand new bottom end. now once we had all our new parts ready it was time for the reassemble of the engine. Now for anyone doing this job make sure you have the timing tool for the crank because if you don't it'll cost you an engine and also make sure you have all the tightening torques for all the bolts on the head and sump. Apart from that the engine is fairly straight forward. Now once the engine was all back together and put back into the car it was time to drive it and bed in the rings but we had another problem with the gear box where it would have an almighty thud whenever it was put into a driving gear (D&R) and wouldn't actually change like the gearbox was stuck in a limp home mode. This was an easy fix all we had to do was reset any learning adaptions the computer had learnt since leaving the dealership (this will also clear out any lights that may be on the dash).
