While changes in our body can be trigged by any factor, sleep patterns associated obesity can be controlled. According to Sleep foundation, sleep deprivation results in growth hormone deficiency and increase cortisol levels. In 2018, a data compared the food intake of subjects who slept only 5 hours versus 7-8 hours. There was significant increase in the amount of calories consumed by the subject who slept for only 5 hours. My proposal is to identify and analyze the correlation between sleep and obesity and how it can be controlled by changes in sleep schedules and nap hours.
