Fretboard zones, or splits, are something we don't necessarily associate with the MIDI Guitar 2 software. The question does come up now and again, so here are two ways to go about it, working in a DAW setup. I am using Abelton here, but I am sure this solution can also be applied to other DAWs too. As I am using the RANGER script here, I am also describing how to add and modify Lua scripts to MIDI Guitar in general. The second approach to this is dependent on a hexaphonic pickup being involved in the setup, to be able to use and split zones on a per-string-basis. 0:00 Introduction 0:50 Can MIDI Guitar recognize where I am? 1:30 Assigning range of pitches to different MIDI Channels 1:55 Two ways to create zones 2:20 First way - The Ranger script 3:04 JamOrigin Forum 3:20 The Ranger script- where to put it 4:00 What does the Ranger script do? 5:00 Defining notes and groups/zones by ”Numbers” 7:00 16 zones/!6 synths 8:25 Instrument Rack with keyboard splits 8:52 Using multiple scripts and functions 9:25 Enabling bends 9:40 Abelton chords and the flip script 10:25 Auto Mod wheel 11:00 Aftertouch2CC 11:47 Making changes to the Lua Script 13:50 The Second Way - Split in two 14:55 The 13-pin connector/hexaphonic PU setup 15:19 One Instrument per string 15:45 The BOSS GP-10 16:45 Tonal/Microtonal Split 17:40 6+6 Channels in Abelton 19:24 Setup repetition 21:00 Outro Stuff used: MIDI Guitar 2 (software from JamOrigin) https://www.jamorigin.com Ranger script https://jamosapien.com/t/ranger-send-...
