Happy Mar10 Day (as of this posting)! In a Mario Golf (N64) 100% speedrun, from a new save file, one must collect all 108 Birdie Badges, complete 36 Ring Shots, and unlock each character (seven in Get Character mode, two in Birdie Badges, and one in Ring Shots). This run begins upon selecting your first game mode, and ends (in this case, but it can vary depending on the route one uses) when the ball enters the hole on the final Ring Shot. It's a fun category that's flexible in its routing options because you can complete tasks in any order. Beyond generally playing well, I improved my PB by a colossal amount because I used DK for Birdie Badges, compared to the previous WR route (held by IAmButPixels) which did a regular All Birdie Badges run at the start (albeit with Peach instead of Plum, who is faster than Peach). The time lost from Plum doing 30 rings instead of Metal Mario is more than recovered by DK playing faster than Peach/Maple (despite re-doing more holes in this run than the old record).
