This time, I explored two fascinating yet very different places in Poland. The first was the unfinished Lapalice Castle. This massive complex was meant to become a luxurious palace but ended up as a labyrinth of incomplete walls. A private businessman began construction in the 1980s, planning to create an extravagant estate with 365 windows, 52 rooms, and even a swimming pool. Unfortunately, the project was never completed due to financial and legal issues. Today, it is one of Poland’s most famous abandoned sites, attracting crowds of curious visitors. While its scale is impressive, the site itself isn’t very safe. In my opinion, it’s worth stopping by if you’re nearby, but not worth a special trip. However, the real highlight of this journey was the Babie Doły Torpedo Station – one of the most incredible abandoned places I’ve ever visited! This former German military base was built during World War II on the coast of Gdynia. It was used for torpedo testing but was abandoned after the war. Now, it stands as a ghostly structure in the Baltic Sea, with an absolutely stunning appearance. Perfect weather, an ideal setting for drone footage, and an incredible history make this place a true gem. The three-minute drone shots capture the full grandeur of this site – make sure to check them out!
