I recorded the demo for Lavender Lemonade on a $30 Amazon mic, using Garageband on my much too old Macbook Air while knowing pretty much nothing about making music. I wanted to capture a moment on a road trip I’d just been on, somewhere between New Mexico and Colorado. The sun was setting as we were driving through the desert with the windows down, music blaring, and not a care in the world. I still find myself going back to that moment sometimes, trying to sink into that feeling of adventure and new love and peace. Lavender Lemonade was also the song that convinced my producers and label to take a chance on me.
