Aaron Neville, who was born in New Orleans in 1941, retired from touring at age 80. WIKIPEDIA says he's still active, but Neville's had no albums or singles in decades. The most recent radio appearance mention on his self-named website is from 2023. At age 16 he got a stick figure dagger tattoo on his left cheek. In reaction, according to Aaron, his dad made him scrub the area with steel wool until the skin came off, but the tattoo remained. A devout Catholic who credits his very life to St. Jude, Neville has a St. Jude emblem as a left earring. Between Aug. 1960 and Oct. 2006, he scored a dozen charting singles. In early 1967, "Tell It Like It Is" was a BILLBOARD R&B #1 and it peaked at #2 on their Hot 100, blocked from the top spot by the Monkees' "I'm a Believer".
