8th Pay Commission News: Govt Approves ToR For 8th Pay Commission, What It Means For Govt Employees? Nearly 10 months after announcing 8th Pay Commission, govt has finally approved the Terms of Reference (ToR) for the new pay panel. The ToR will serve as a blueprint for the panel which will examine pay structures, allowances and pension revisions for employees and retirees. The ToR will also set the boundaries and timeframe for pay panel's recommendations. 8th Pay Commission will consider the overall economic situation of the country and the importance of maintaining fiscal prudence. It will also focus on ensuring sufficient funds remain available for developmental and welfare projects. Now the Commission will take at least 18 months to finalise its report and submit it. Govt will finally decide on the applicability of the suggestions and the timeline of implementation.
