A facelift isn't going to help the mid-face. A facelift helps the lateral face. The fillers are placed for patients in the office setting that can augment the mid-face and the cheeks, while cheek implants are a surgical implant composed of solid silicone and are usually placed through an intra-oral approach, through the upper teeth, placed directly on the maxilla, and it is a bony augmentation for patients who have a flat mid-face and a flat maxilla. We place the cheek implants in under a brief general anesthesia through an intraoral approach. It usually takes about a half an hour to 45 minutes as an outpatient procedure.
