Eviternity 2 is a sequel to the first Eviternity, which came out in 2018 on Doom's 25th birthday. Likewise, Eviternity 2 was released in 2023 on Doom's 30th birthday. Both WADs are primarily authored by Dragonfly, with many of the maps in both WADs being either worked on by two mappers (oftentimes including Dragonfly himself) or being standalone guest maps. Eviternity 2 also continues the structural themes seen in its predecessor. It's split into 6 aesthetically distinct episodes, those being Withered, Sanctuary, Petrified, Bastion, Hyperborean, and Celestial. Eviternity 2 goes beyond this however by including a secret map in each episode, making a grand total of 36 maps. Once again, these distinct episodes get a huge helping hand from Ukiro's wonderful texture pack, OTEX. There are also new custom additions to the WAD, besides the returning cast of custom enemies from the first Eviternity. After probably 7 casual playthroughs and this recorded playthrough I can comfortably say this is my favorite WAD of all time. So I hope you enjoy the gameplay. ==================== IWAD: Doom 2 Port: DSDA-doom 27.5 Compatibility: MBF21 (comp level 21) Mapper(s): Bauul MIDI: James Paddock - Hyperdrive ==================== Eviternity 2: https://eviternity.dfdoom.com/ DSDA-doom: https://www.doomworld.com/forum/topic... ==================== If there used to be any map in Eviternity 2 that I hated at first, it was probably this one. This was no doubt the hardest map on my first playthrough. The more I play it though, I can't help but love the gimmick and how it was executed. It feels like an old-school side scroller level but given a new coat of paint. The MIDI is also one of the best I've ever heard, from the MIDI maestro, Jimmy. It's so infectious and energetic that I can't help but head bang to it at certain parts. I admire Bauul's ambition and ability to execute this map's main gimmick. It's a welcome change of pace from the typical map in this WAD.
