FLAXSEEDS CHUTNEY (ALSI KI CHUTNEY) Inspired from Our Dadima ke gharelu nuskhe, flaxseeds is a superfood. So flaxseeds (alsi) are known to be beneficial for skin and hair; also improve digestion and relieve constipation. Known to lower blood cholesterol and is heart healthy. Mixed with Sesame seeds which is excellent source of calcium is very good for bone, blood vessel function and muscle movement. Imagine a fry chutney made from these ingredients which you can enjoy with just about everything and can store for almost a month. Here is the recipe - dry roast 1 cup flaxseeds then dry roast 1/4 cup white sesame seeds take them out in one mixing bowl now in a pan, take 1 tsp oil add 3-4 garlic cloves (if Jain then skip garlic) add few curry leaves & whole red chillies sauté them well now add them all to flaxseeds and sesame seeds mixture Once the flaxseeds mixture cools down, add 1 tsp whole cumin and 1 tbs Kashmiri Red chilli 🌶️ powder (you may adjust chilli powder per your taste) add salt per taste now coarsely grind everything Flaxseeds Dry Chutney is ready. It will stay good 7 days outside or store in a fridge in an air tight container upto 30 days. . You may sprinkle this chutney with dal rice or Paratha or sprinkle over any of the Raita or I would say even on bread butter. Since it is dry chutney, you could even give in tiffin or take along while travelling. It is unique yet simply amazing.
