Prominent Arab poets Nizar Qabbani - The poet of love and women, the poet of patriotism He was so famous and his poetry was described as too erotic - Nizar Qabbani was born on March 21, 1923, in Mazanet Ash-Shahm in the Syrian capital Damascus He studied at the National Scientific College from 1930 to 1941 - He got bachelor's degree of law from Damascus University and graduated in 1945 After graduating, he immediately went to work in diplomacy after joining the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs - He was appointed as Syria's ambassador to Egypt where it was the beginning of his diplomatic career He moved as an ambassador in several capitals - London, Ankara, Beijing and Madrid In 1966, he left Diplomatic work and dedicated himself to poetry - He discovered his poetic talent at an early age and wrote his first poems at the age of sixteen He issued his first diwan "The Brunette Told Me" in 1944 which caused controversy because of its themes His career as a poet: - He issued 35 diwans throughout his poetic career including "The Lovers' Dictionary", "Drawing with Words", "Alphabet of Jasmine", and "Savage Poems" .... He is one of the most poets whose poems were sung by many great Arab singers - His social life: - He married his cousin, Zahra Akbiq, and they had two children, Tawfiq and Hadba, but they separated He had a relationship with the Syrian writer Colette Khoury, but it did not last long - He married the Iraqi Balqis Al-Rawi after a love story that lasted 7 years. Her family refused their marriage at first but accepted in the end. It is said that the Iraqi president back then Ahmed Hassan Al-Bakr intervened to complete the marriage. They had two children, Zainab and Omar He experienced a trauma in his childhood which is the suicide of his sister Wesal after her family forced her to marry someone she did not love.
