December 14 Maurice Luque and photojournalist Ben Cutshall went to Toys R Us in Mission Bay for a report on hot selling toys—a sign of the times. December 13 Uppermost in the minds of children at this time of the year is Santa Claus and the toys he has for good little girls and boys. Realizing this, TV 8 reporter Jim Gordon ventured to the North Island Naval Air Station for a report on Santa’s helpers. December 9, 1972 In the Copley Auditorium of the Fine Arts Gallery in Balboa Park, puppets were on the program as the Fine Arts Society had its annual Christmas party for children. The puppets were from the "Puppet Playhouse," and they were well received by the partygoers, particularly by the younger ones. The Fine Arts party today was typical of the Children's Christmas parties which will engage thousands of area youngsters during the next two weeks as the festive season nears its climax.
