The second echo of a Longing Star...    • "Echoes of a Longing Star" (2026)   Written, performed by Mei of Lily Valley Produced by LLT and Mei of Lily Valley Mastered by LLT Video edited and all that by Mei of Lily Valley, recorded by a kind soul ⋆ ✶ ⋆.˚ About the Song: It was a hot Summer evening, Mei thought about writing a new song, and so she started playing and making up some riffs on guitar. Until she came up with a first version of what would result to be the "Now What?" chorus riff. The song originally was to be called "Feeling Lost?", but ultimately it got its title from a question that appears on times of uncertainty. Though this song maintains the essence of the sonic style of Mei, it also follows the experimentalism of the previous EP "The Melancholy of a Longing Star". This one pertaining to those three of "The Echoes of a Longing Star" EP, kept the essence of experimenting genres within a song. Lyrics of profound meaning (clearer or more hidden) that serve as an answer to both original questions of "Feeling Lost?" and "Now What?" are found on this song. A fun-fact is that the day Mei had to write the lyrics for this song (which did not come easy at first) she spent the day going around with her lyrics notebook. That same day there was a Summer storm, which Mei surely enjoyed, and surely must have affected what she would then write. Furthermore, this is one of the songs that took the most time to Mei to record, as not only it took a while to find the perfect guitar tone, but the song was also recorded three different times, with three different speeds… The first one was too slow. The second one too fast.
