Farmers' protest in Kurukshetra: Congress leader Deepender Hooda slams BJP government in Haryana

During a Congress press conference, MP Deepender Hooda slammed the BJP-led government in Haryana saying that the Congress party will raise assurance of MSP for farmers on behalf of farmers in the upcoming Parliament Session. “We will raise this issue in the upcoming session of Parliament. The slogan of ‘Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan’ is now ‘Mare Kisan, Pite Kisan, Jai Dhanwaan’...” said Deepender Hooda on farmers demanding MSP for sunflower seed.Agitated farmers have blocked the Delhi-Amritsar National Highway in Kurukshetra since June 06. Farmers have been protesting against the Haryana government’s decision to not buy sunflower seeds at the Minimum Support Price (MSP). To disperse them, police used water cannons and lathi-charge.
