Our first attempt of a product video with the Autel Nano+. The Autel Nano+ is a fantastic sub249g drone. The low weight means you can fly almost everywhere without facing many regulatory requirements. The picture quality delivered by the RYBB sensor working in the camera of this little drone is outstanding, particularly in low light leaving many bigger drones' picture quality far behind. Unfortunately, I bought the Nano+at a time when I had almost no time to really try it out and, thus, had little time to get used to its feel. As someone who was used to the heavier DJI Air2, the Nano+ initially felt a bit different, which is natural to its lighter weight. However, due to time constraints I only flew it on three occasions. In all of these I was under high time pressure and also weather conditions were far from ideal, hence, back then my confidence in the Nano+ was not at the same level as it was with the Air2 which I had been flying for years. Since I had made a "bad" experience with a purchase from another drone manufacturer and I was still allowed to return it, I did so. The amount ot footage I took with the drone was therefore very limited but hopefully you still enjoy. However, after having the chance to fly the same model of someone I know, I was sure returning it was a mistake and I ordered another one. So now I can again call this little beast my own. As awesome as it is, however, also the Nano+ is not without its flaws: While the drone offers to shoot in log, for some reason shooting in log does not allow you to apply manual settings. This feels a bit of an artifical and unnecessary restriction. However, if you look at the pricing, you really need to compare the Nano+ to the "normal" DJI mini3 rather than to the DJI mini3 pro or now even the mini4pro. This makes the decision even easier, since the normal mini3 does not offer flat color profile at all and - same as the Nano+ - is restricted to 30fps max. The drone is of course not as wind resistent as significantly bigger drones but at least at the level of the mini2 in this regard and the picture quality rivals (or in my opinion even exceeds) that of the mini3 whereas both drones have a pretty different look. The picture of the mini3 is not nearly as sharp and crisp as the picture of the Nano+ and the Nano+ seems to perform even better in low light. On the other side, the picture of the Nano+ can sometimes look almost oversharpened. The picture quality of both is phenomenal and It's really a matter of personal preference. A clear plus of the Nano+ is that you do not have geofencing. So it's up to you to take responsibility for your flights. So it offers more freedom but also requires you to inform yourself properly where you can fly. Also - and this may sound like a strange to point - the orange color of the drone is the real deal: Whereas you normally quickly lose sight of such small drone, the orange Nano+ could be seen over hundreds of meters without problems. Finally, and very few people seem to mention this, I really liked the quality of the bag that comes with the premium package. The drone sits very tight in this bag and everything fits in nicely without the need to squeeze it. I never had the feeling it would be in danger of getting damaged in the bag. A special thanks to @glm-mediaworld at this stage who also invited me to the Autel copter meeting and helped me buying and activating the autel care on very short term (which made it even more pointless to reuturn the drone which likely not got wasted with activated care...). A big thank you in this context to @dronisport.it who immediately reacted and sold me the autel care. I saw people write that Autel intends to withdraw from the consumer market. I do not know about this but I really hope this is wrong. Their drones have phenomenal cameras and seem very well-crafted. It's definitely good to have a competitor in the market which can rival the quality of the market leader. Definitely looking forward to a revision of this superb little drone, then hopefully also allowing for 4K/60FPS, manual settings when shooting log and adjustable sharpness. All in all: If you have the chance to get one at a reasonable price, do it. @AutelRobotics: Please don't change the color!
