Join me as I ride out of the Phoenix metro area on my 2019 Harley-Davidson Road King Special, heading east on US-60 through Miami and Globe before dropping into the stunning Salt River Canyon and climbing up to Show Low, Arizona. Show Low got its name from a legendary poker game between the town’s founders. When the game dragged on for hours with no winner, they decided to play “low card" for all the marbles. Corydon Cooley drew the deuce of clubs and said "Show Low it is!" Sitting at over 6,000 feet in elevation, Show Low is a perfect summer escape from the Phoenix heat. And the ride getting there? Desert sweepers, canyon twisties, and cool mountain air. Definitely one of Arizona’s most underrated motorcycle routes.
