It features contributions by several collaborators, including: Stephen Tuttle - libretto Michael Kraczek - lighting design Kevin Anthony - wind sound machine for L-ISA system Brian Christensen - metal tree sculptures Brent Barson and David Habben - animated videos Barta Heiner - narration for opening video Shea Owens - direction Margie Johnson - makeup and hair for Madison Leonard and Shea Owens Steve Peck - lazuli bunting and water field recordings Cassea Day - concert poster and promotional materials Baucis and Philemon was premiered in The Box, BYU Music Building, October 27-28, 2023, by the following performers: Madison Leonard - Baucis Shea Owens - Philemon Jillian Townsend - flute/piccolo Anamae Anderson, Marilyn Dodson - harps Matt Coleman - percussion Michelle Kesler - cello Nathan Haines - conductor Steven Ricks - sound cues and live electronics/sound Michael Kraczek - lighting All music and sound design by Steven L. Ricks (me) including the soundtracks to the two videos. Video of the premiere performance shot and directed by Brandon Arnold, edited by Makenna Buhler and Brandon Arnold, with the support of a CFAC Film and Digital Media Fund grant.
