hello folks we are here with one more beautiful reunion of a Jungle Cat kittens. these kittens were found during sugarcane harvesting by farmers. they immediately inform the forest department and we received a call from forest officials regarding these kittens. we set up a camera near the filed and let the spot. we didn't touch the kittens at all. An hour after we left the spot, the mother Jungle cat appeared from the sugarcane fields She cautiously approached her kittens ensuring that no one spots her. She took the first two in a span of a few minutes and shifted them to a new location. After ensuring the new location is safe, she returned to take the third kitten after almost an hour. Our major challenge in this situation was to make the villagers understand that the cubs are that of a Jungle cat and not a Leopard. Our previous videos and documents proved helpful as we conducted are awareness session at the site itself. Jungle cats are like House cats but are shy and solitary in nature, except during the mating season and mother-kitten families. Adults maintain territories by urine spraying and scent marking. Its preferred prey is small mammals and birds. It hunts by stalking its prey, followed by a sprint or a leap; the ears help in pinpointing the location of prey. They are not a threat to Humans but they, in fact, play a pivotal role in controlling the rodent population in fields and inturn helping farmers. It is listed as Least Concern on the IUCN Red List and is mainly threatened by the destruction of wetlands, trapping, and poisoning. follow us on Instagram: / eco_echo_foundation
