Very rare to see elite clubs signing players from amateur (perhaps it's an affiliate club, I'm not sure) but in this case, it's clear why since Ismael has uncanny similarity in playstyle to William Carvalho. Pros: Great physical profile for the DM spot, very tall with wide body frame, yet to bulk up, runs in stride but shuffles is feet like a dancer making him very good on the ball Stands out on the ball with incredible ball control and space awareness Technical ability In the 1st stage of the build up looks to receive in between lines, behind the 1st line of the press to make usage of his great ball control Composure Turning on the ball/player First touch Terrific first touch preparation and orientation, capable of using it to draw and beat the press Usage of weak foot when receiving to execute faster In the 2nd and 3rd stage of the build up will be the deepest player making sure the circulation of the ball stays fast and objective Clarity when playmaking Altough most of his passes are lateral he does possess good vision and has the ability to progress the ball usually taking advantage of hiding intention and his seemingly "predictable" passing patterns to find inside passing lanes or through balls Game reading ability Great dribble and realibility on the 1v1, fantastic footwork for a big men More of a positional midfielder in the defensive stage Good positional awareness Isn't a good long passer and his playstyle would massively improve from it, usually spots the open man on the flanks but doesn't follow trough with the long ball, taking more touches than necessary to get the ball there Doesn't use the full potential of his physical characteristics, mainly in the defensive 1v1's and aerial duels Passiveness Isn't agile and can struggle on the defensive 1v1 #IsmaelBarea #RealBetis #scouting
