LET'S PLANT! EP 91 - These are my PREFERRED TYPE of leaves for propagation! There are so many succulent leaf propagation videos out there, including mine. One is a dedicated leaf propagation video, while others are little content arcs included in my vlog (it will be very hard or tedious to pinpoint which episodes they appear in). In case you need a refresher, here's my old leaf propagation video: • Propagating succulents from leaves Here's the 2018 propagation playlist: • 2018 Propagations I generally prefer taking plump leaves from flower stalks because they are disposable. I will be getting rid of these stalks anyway, if they do not dry out first. However you will find that there are 2 types of leaves in echeveria flower stalks. The first would be bract-like leaves. These are typically a lot smaller than regular leaves. The second of course are the regular leaves. How do flower stalks end up having regular leaves? It's mainly from pups going terminal. Most of the time you do not notice these since they stretch earlier on. At other times, the pups go terminal at the last moment, and in the few days leading to that, you'll likely notice them and wonder if they are pups or flowers. If you do not see lots of tiny leaves at the centre of the tip of the stalk, then it's likely a pup. Regular leaves are much better propagators than bract-like leaves, because flowers grow from the base of the bracts. The Plant Shop https://www.cerriscapades.com/the-pla...
