The Glowtel 5.0 "Five Star" Edition server invitation link: / discord #sonic4 #sailormoon #sonic4epii #bishoujosenshisailormoon #sonicmusic #sonic4theme #oildesertact2 Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon's OST, written and programmed by Aki Hata, uses a combination of Hiroshi Kubota's and Bo's stock patches ubiquitous in Genesis/Mega Drive games that used SMPS. I've been keen on attempting the Bishoujo Senshi arrangement style for over a year, but withheld from impulsively doing so because I had to scrutinize the unfamiliar mixing techniques, the exact implementation of the patches, and the compositional attributes. Now that I've "internalized" this OST for long enough, I present a cover of Oil Desert Act 2 heavily inspired by the aforementioned game's "Stage 3 - 2" theme. Fun fact #1 - the fantasia/new age technique with the PSG was a serendipitous discovery due to a mispositioned note. I tweaked it from there to achieve the desired auditory illusion. Fun fact #2 - the extension is an original composition. Those aware of this channel's hidden lore would instantly recognize that it is derivative (but with its own merits) of another composition of mine. While it could sound somewhat jovial considering the level's atmosphere and context, Bishoujo Senshi's compositions frequently had final verses with this contrasting mood, even in its industrial levels. Fun fact #3 - the idea of this cover can be attributed to my encounter with a duck-like patch NATIVE to this game's soundbank. = Credits = Original Composition: Jun Senoue Extended verse: Me Visuals: SEGA, Sonic Team, and Toei Company, Ltd.
