I received another order from a new client to trim hedges and shrubs. When I arrived at the address at the appointed time, the owner of the house met me and showed me the scope of the work. In the front yard, I needed to trim a thuja hedge and two laurel bushes, which didn't look too difficult. In the backyard, I needed to trim several shrubs near the pond and, most importantly, as she said, was to trim a large, overgrown laurel hedge that was about 4 meters high, as well as another yew hedge on the left side near the garden shed and trim a pear tree. While we were discussing all this, she asked me if I could completely remove the thuja hedge in the front yard. When I asked her why, she explained that she wanted to put up a fence. I said that it was possible, but at another time, so she asked me to trim only the side facing the neighbor's property. After discussing everything, I got to work, starting with trimming the thuja hedge. Then I also trimmed two laurel bushes. To trim the second bush, I had to use pruning shears because the branches were quite thick, which meant that they hadn't been trimmed properly for a long time. I also trimmed two more small hedges near the trash cans. Then I decided to remove all the clippings right away, as the main work was in the backyard. I also cleared some weeds from the stones using a trimmer. When I trimmed the bush near the pond, I had to use my ladder, which I placed in the middle of the pond so that I could stand on it, as I couldn't reach it any other way. I also trimmed a couple more bushes. Then I started trimming the laurel, where I had to cut off more than half a meter on each side. After that, I put the ladder in place and started trimming from the top, but some of the branches were so thick that I had to use a chainsaw. It was difficult to reach the top, so I left a few branches sticking out, as I still had to trim the neighbor's side. I also noticed that my neighbor was watching me from her window the whole time. I climbed over the small fence and started pruning, and when I was halfway through, my neighbor came up to me and said, “What's going on here? You're trampling my hydrangeas and other flowers.” I tried to explain to her that I wasn't walking on the flowers, just that the branches were falling on top of them, but they were perfectly fine. However, she kept saying that I should be careful and neat, to which I replied that I would leave that side and they could do it themselves, and I would just clean up after myself, as I had no desire to justify myself. So I continued pruning from above on my client's side, and then I pruned the other hedge near the garden house and pruned the pear tree. It was time to clean everything up and transfer it to the trailer, so I tried to blow as many dry leaves as possible out from under the hedge and then collected everything in a green bag. This job took me 9 hours and, as always, filled the trailer to capacity!
