It is located right before the Trade Centre roundabout leading to Dubai’s main highway, Sheikh Zayed Road (E11), adjacent to Zabeel Park and the bustling Karama area. Thus, residents around here are just a few minutes away from popular attractions. The area is mainly composed of residential units including apartments and villas for rent. But it is also home to Al Hanaa Shopping Centre, Max Fashion Metro Station (previously known as Al Jafiliya Metro Station) and a few consulates. Ibn Battuta Mall is the world’s largest themed shopping centre, inspired by the famous explorer of the same name. Shop your way through 275 retailers across six courts, each reflecting the different regions through which Ibn Battuta travelled – Andalusia, Tunisia, Egypt, Persia, India and China. Persia Court features a magnificent hand-painted dome; there are pyramids in the Egypt Court; and a striking lion fountain takes centre stage in Andalusia Court. Tunisia Court offers up ancient stucco facades; China Court reflects the perils of Ibn Battuta’s visit with pirates and sunken ships, while the top of every hour in India Court is celebrated with dragons, phoenixes and wooden figures. It’s shopping and entertainment all rolled into one, topped off with more than 50 dining options. For some down time, choose from 21 cinema screens, including an IMAX theatre, to catch a latest release film. Getting here is also super easy – the Dubai Metro brings you right to the mall.
