A visual History of Sunderland Treasured Memories to jog your memory of Sunderland Past. For everyone who was raised in Sunderland or was familiar with Sunderland of days gone by. From the vast archives held by Sunderland Antiquarian Society in Sunderland Heritage Centre, this video was assembled from many thousands, perhaps hundreds of thousands of treasured memories, photographs and slides by dedicated volunteers. Viewers aged 75 and over, (and hopefully that means many thousands), will remember every location in the history of Sunderland, and it's probable that every picture here has changed beyond recognition. For younger viewers, many questions will be raised, as this is the history of Sunderland that perhaps you never knew about. Best to get your parents or grandparents to watch as they will be sure to appreciate seeing these treasured memories of their old haunts. Hopefully they will have bought food from the hot potato guy who was very popular.
