This is the seventh video of a multi-hike adventure series from our trip to Wyoming and Idaho in 2021. After a rough drive to the 4th of July Creek trailhead, we hiked the pleasant trail up to 4th of July Lake, which looked like a great destination for families with young children. Continuing onward, we ascended then descended to Washington Lake, which offered scenic camping spots. Continuing on, we descended several hundred feet of elevation over the next few miles, then began a modest climb through a mix of open slopes, switchbacks, and fireburned forest. Had many great views to the west and south. Reached the divide after hiking 7.1 miles. From this point we had great views of Castle Peak across the valley to the north, and hints of views into Chamberlain Basin. After a break, we retraced our steps to the trailhead, hiking 14.2 miles in total.
