the beta boys are back to bring some greata noize You might remember that I uploaded this group's demo a short while back. As in, like, two weeks ago. It just so happens that Beta Boys just dropped a new EP on Bandcamp yesterday. Ya boy Jimmy is bein' real relevant these days. Anyways, Beta Boys is a punk rock n' roll group from Kansas City. Now, I honestly wouldn't have solely classified this group as such just by their demo alone. Their demo was straight-up obnoxious and spastic in all the best ways possible, and "Real Rockers" graciously strays from these initial sounds. Sure, their demo had its moments of rock-like melodies marred behind raw intensity, but this EP seems to fully embrace these solid rock-infused punk tunes. Some tastefully-distorted riffs and bass lines, backed by some solid drumming, and all tucked behind the same snotty and whiny vocals that I adored from their demo tape. Beta Boys is mastering these punk rock n' roll sounds, and this EP really shows it. This'll be a 7" sometime this year, and'll be put out by Lumpy Records and Eat The Life, so just dig'gin to the digital release for now.
