A sudden onset of pelvic pain can be a scary thing - where is it coming from? What is causing it? And, what should you do about it? In this video on pediatric pelvic emergencies, pediatric obstetrician-gynecologist Dr. Sari Kives will answer these questions, with respect to young women specifically. Dr. Kives will speak on the various potential causes for pelvic pain in children and adolescents, including ovarian cysts, ovarian torsion and obstructions. She will address their common presentations, and give examples of how they might be investigated in the emergency department. Dr. Kives will also speak on their treatment, and hopefully provide some reassurance that many of these “emergencies” can in fact be corrected! Join us in learning more about this fascinating topic in Dr. Kives.
