It is not directly attested in writing, but has been reconstructed to some degree through the comparative method. Proto-Italic descended from the earlier Proto-Indo-European language. CLASSICAL LATIN by Latinum    • Latin The Lord's Prayer Pater Noster Qui E...   is the form of Literary Latin recognized as a literary standard by writers of the late Roman Republic and early Roman Empire. It was used from 75 BC to the 3rd century AD, when it developed into Late Latin. MODERN ITALIAN by Pietro :D is a Romance language of the Indo-European language family that evolved from the Vulgar Latin of the Roman Empire.
