Probably over 100 Washington Gas workers and contractors performing an emergency gas main replacement on Verplanck Pl NW in Washington DC on the weekend of Feb 8-10, 2019, after I published a video showing how I could ignite the gas from a leak in our street ( • Fix the LEAK, Washington GAS ). Every other time we'd reported the leak, they'd patched the 80 year old cast iron main, but the smell of gas would return in days. The new line is a medium pressure plastic line, and all the service lines to the house meters were replaced as well. Huge project but extremely well done, and extremely quickly. Where there's a will there's a way.
