Montefiore Einstein and the City of Mount Vernon Host the 3RD Annual Twilight Track and Field Series

More than 1,000 participants from ages 5 to 80 from across the tri-state area showed up this summer to complete in race events. Mount Vernon Mayor, Shawyn Patterson-Howard was on hand at the final event of the season which included a special Montefiore Einstein employee race. Mayor Patterson-Howard said, “these races are more than just about health. They are about mental and emotional wellness and connections.” The Twilight Track and Field Series is a cornerstone of Montefiore Einstein’s Healthy Summer Initiative, a program dedicated to addressing the social determinants of physical activity and safety. As an added bonus, Montefiore Mount Vernon offered blood pressure screenings, stroke prevention education and diabetes awareness information.
