2026 Nissan Leaf review | Radically reinvented Nissan Leaf becomes a crossover

We shouldn't be surprised, therefore, that the new Nissan Leaf is so radically different to the two generations before, and the differences go much deeper than the fresh crossover-like design. Following on from our static preview of the car earlier in the year, and only a few months before the proper international driving launch of it, we took part in a special event for World Car of the Year jurors allowing us to get behind the wheel of the new Nissan Leaf for ourselves. It wasn't enough to draw a definitive conclusion on this EV, but it was more than enough to form an early opinion.
