The Bandvagn BV 206 is a Swedish unarmoured, tracked, articulated, amphibious and extremely off-road capable transport vehicle. Built by Hägglund & Söner AB, it was an international sales success from the start. The company has since merged into the BAE Systems corporation, but 'Hagglunds' and 'Bandvagen' is still the generic term for all 2-piece tracked off-road vehicles. The concept of "BV 206" is very interesting. Articulated steering, wide tracks and lightweight construction offer clear advantages in terms of off-road mobility, but something else has been compromised.
