The natives migrated to Bolivia about 20,000 years ago, and aound 800 BC, the best civilization of the Andes blossomed. In the 12th century, the kingdom of Aymara was formed around Lake Titicaca. It was destroyed by the Inca Empire in the 15th century. The Inca civilization fell and Spain began their colonial rule after Atahualpa, the Inca emperor in 1532, was executed by the Spanish conqueror. In the 18th century, Bolivia was incorporated into Buenos Aires and a large-scale independence movement took place against the Spanish rule which spread across Peru and Bolivia. Republic of Bolivia was named after Simon Bolivar, who led Bolivia into independence from the Spanish rule along with Sucre in 1825.
