I told my wife I was just heading out to put gas in my BMW R 1200 GS Adventure… but I took the very long way. In this video, I ride out from my hometown of Paradise, California, dropping down into the valley and cruising through peaceful farmland before winding my way up through the foothills. I stop at Nelson’s Bar, the day-use area at Lake Oroville, to take in the view and slow down for a moment before finally making it to the gas station—right as the sun sets. This ride is a reminder that even a short motorcycle ride can bring perspective, clear your mind, and help reset your day.
