02/28/26 — Early Morning (Heavy Fog / Near Zero Visibility) — Huge thanks to Anthony @anthonyceleste6611 for the wake-up call and heads up on this one. I rushed out the door and headed toward the tracks, and when I reached the intersection of SR 52 & Old Lakeland Hwy, I could hear the horn and feel the rumble, and the crossing lights were flashing… but the fog was so thick I couldn’t even see the tracks about 15 feet ahead. The train was moving slow, so I made a quick decision to go south and try to beat it — and with about a minute to spare, I got ahead enough to catch it again at Richland, FL, where it finally pierced the fog and cleared by me.
