Join us for this virtual forum that convenes Black women religious leaders to tell their leadership stories and reflect on pathways to reimagine social change. In the words of Zora Neale Hurston, “There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.” The stories of Black women’s leadership are often missing from leadership studies. Black women in the United States make up the majority of Christian churches while continuing to bear the burden of unequal access to religious leadership in a contemporary era. Womanism represents an approach in religious studies and a prophetic social movement committed to the survival and liberation of Black women while dismantling multidimensional systems of oppression. When Black women, who represent one of the greatest leadership assets of the Black community, are inspired and affirmed, new pathways for social transformation emerge – for the betterment of all. Panelists: Rev. Eustacia Marshall Pastor of New River Presbyterian Church, Philadelphia, PA Rev. Traci Blackmon Associate General Minister of Justice & Local Church Ministries for the United Church of Christ Moderator: Rev. Melanie C.
