Teaching dog hunt command is something we start when they are very young. The hunt command starts by simply sprinkling kibble in grass, and letting the puppy use his/her nose to find it. This example however, is something we do with older dogs to not only teach them to use their nose, but also to build trust in us that when we say theirs something in there, there is. This is how we get dogs to trust us and hunt an area thoroughly, even when the dog doesn't believe there is something there. Teaching dog hunt command is a very important part of our foundation, and a command that becomes very useful for in the field and hunting situations. This is a fun drill for the dog that will help you recover more birds and/or sheds. Over the past several years we have been documenting our Handlers Workshops for a variety of reasons. One of the initial reasons was to use the content as supplementary footage included within our series of Training DVD's. After realizing that we had so much footage that I think is just as valuable as the DVD content itself, we decided that we should put the effort and time into organizing it in a way that we could effectively provide it to you as well.
