Antique, Vintage & Thrifted Keepsakes! I My Personal Home Collection

People keep asking to talk about some of the things I collect, so what better time? We’re all at home, so now’s a great time for all of us to show off old things we enjoy! We’ve all got cool collections, thrift store style, vintage values and functional finds. I want to inspire each other by showing off our antique, vintage and thrifted goodies, and how we live with them every day! I’m opening up my Saint Petersburg, Florida co-op and my collections in the main room for this video…it was built in 1956, and I deliberately furnished it like someone might have back in the day. “Tropical Eclectic” might be the best description, but there’s plenty of other fun and novel items, from Blenko glass to World’s Fair art. Like every reseller I know, I started as and remain a collector. That realization led me to issue this open collaboration “Challenge”! #ShowOffYourBunker asks everyone to show their sanctuary, hangout, hideout, collection room, man cave, she shed, shelf or curio...wherever they surround themselves with used and vintage things that bring enjoyment, comfort and happiness, things are helping make a house a home now. The only requirement is that they were NOT purchased new. To get everyone to talk about the things they decided were worth keeping for themselves, I try to do the same. Deco mirror to Donald Deskey, barkcloth to barware, I have lots of stories to tell about what I have and how it came to me. I do talk about prices paid (and retail), but it’s more about the love! I’m happy to be sharing my real world vintage encounters with the online community, I love sharing our passion and hope we will all help each other with our antique education.
