I'm not sure how old box is, but I used it when I did radio in 2001-2002. It even fired off a tornado warning before the tornado ripped through campus and Gallatin TN in April 2006. Now, I have this box but it didn't work. Sadly, Google deleted many of my videos, so I don't have any videos I made previously to show you. I thought it was unusual for the date and time to be set so oddly. On top of that, it could not be set to the correct date or it would throw an error. The battery was flat, but I didn't think it needed a battery to fix that issue and it rebooting every time it received an alert. The instruction manual had a CR2033 batter attached to it. Why now change the battery? Maybe it will fix it. It did fix it. The battery keeps the memory inside alive, so no one has to keep setting the date and time after power outages. The presets are also stored in that memory. Setting presets are not that hard to do, but within the menu structure, it is kind of a pain.
