Went caving in a local cave. This one has an interesting beginning structure. I have now coined it the zigzag. This was a fun crawly trip. We went in and before we could get to the zig or the zag we noticed a bat near the entrance that we took care to not disturb. After going through the zigzag there was a bit of a spider over a skinny 30 ft drop. This spot used to make me nervous due to the maneuvers we used to get through the 1st time, but since then we've figured it out. Soon it opens up to a decent sized room with 2 options to chimney down some drops or squeeze through a spot to make it to the same place. Some of us chose the squeeze and others chose the scramble, and we met up not long after that. Soon we had to go through a small 40 ft crawl. This cave was much more wet than it was last time we were here, so that made it a bit more miserable. Right after the crawl I wanted to try a squeeze I was able to do last time. At some point I had to put one my shoulders down, so I was able to get my through. It took some time to negotiate to the end. I knew there wasn't much to look at but it is definitely a challenge. After we were finished with that we went on to the rest of the cave. There was some challenging maneuvering through some interesting passage until we made it to the end with some beautiful formations. Once we were coming back out I did a short squeeze that I enjoy. This is that video. Overall this isn't a very long cave but it is definitely an interesting one. The cave name isn't given to protect it from trespassers P.S. Cave safely, know your limits, and follow the caving rules All trips are taken with precautions such as; permission from landowners, we go with a safe number of cavers (3+), proper footwear, clothing, and helmets, and have a designated call-out that knows what to do and who to call in case of an emergency and if we don't make our out-time. Take nothing but pictures, leaving nothing but footprints, communication, 3 points of contact. We want to protect the cave environment and be as safe as possible (while also having a lot of fun). P.S. not everything I talk about on the trip is on camera Warning: motion sickness, claustrophobia, headphone warning Hope you enjoy it!!! any questions about caving, feel free to comment!
