This final and most heartbreaking episode of the Haribansha series reveals the inevitable end of the Yaduvansh and the Pandavas’ final yatra, marking the completion of Lord Krishna’s divine mission on earth. According to the Odia Haribansha, after the Kurukshetra war, Gandhari, consumed by grief, cursed that Krishna’s own dynasty would perish within 36 years. The curse manifested when Krishna’s son Samba mocked sages, resulting in the birth of an iron bolt that later caused the self-destruction of the Yaduvansh. Drunken and blinded by fate, the Yadavas annihilated each other using grass that turned into deadly weapons. After witnessing the end of his clan, Krishna withdrew to the forest, where the hunter Jara unknowingly struck him with the same iron arrow, ending Krishna’s earthly leela. With Krishna’s departure and the submergence of Dwarka, the age of heroes ended. The Pandavas, along with Draupadi, crowned Parikshit as king and began their final journey toward the Himalayas. One by one, they fell, until only Yudhishthira, guided by dharma, ascended to heaven.
