Tripura ADC Elections 2021: Three people attacked by miscreants while on their way to vote

Three people were admitted to Gomoti district hospital at Udaipur in Tripura after being attacked by miscreants, while on their way to the polling station under Maharani Chelagang constituency to cast their votes for the ongoing ADC election in the state. The three including a woman sustained head injuries from the assault. Speaking to TNT- The Northeast Today, the woman victim narrated her ordeal. One of the victims said that about ten to fifteen people assaulted them while they were on their way to cast their votes. The miscreants who were from Chandrapur as claimed by the victims, restricted them from going to the polling centres. When these three people retaliated, they were hit by the miscreants from behind resulting in head injuries. They were brought to the hospital by the local Police. It may be mentioned that polling to the 28-seated Autonomous District Council of Tripura is underway in 1244 polling stations in the state.
